Wednesday, March 2, at 6:30pm, Sanctuary – Asbury will be observing Ash Wednesday in an intimate service. Ash Wednesday is the start of Lent which is the 40 day period before Easter. Ash Wednesday derives its name from the practice of blessing ashes made from palm branches on the previous year’s Palm Sunday, and placing them on the foreheads of participants to the accompaniment of the words “Repent, and believe in the Gospel” or “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”
