Daily Bible Reading: Mark 8

[27] Jesus and his disciples left Galilee and went up to the villages near Caesarea Philippi. As they were walking along, he asked them, “Who do people say I am?” [28] “Well,” they replied, “some say John the Baptist, some say Elijah, and others say you are one of the other prophets.” [29] Then he asked them, “But who do you say I am?” Peter replied, “You are the Messiah.” Mark 8:27-29 NLT
Whenever I read this conversation between Jesus and His disciples, I think this is includes one of the most significant questions ever asked. That question is from Jesus when He asked, “But who do you say I am?” It goes beyond what other people say, beyond the crowds and the religious leaders, beyond the pastors and the Sunday School teachers. It is a personal response. It is you.
When it comes to our personal response, we sometimes dance around this with meaningless generalities. Peter was bold. Peter took a stand. He declared, “You are the Messiah.”
What is your answer?
