Read 2 Kings 25 today.

Tomorrow we will begin reading in the gospel of Matthew. Remember, we are reading one chapter from the Bible each day. If you should happen to miss a day. Do not worry about trying to catch up. Just begin with the reading for this day.
This is the last chapter in the part of Israel’s history recorded in 1 & 2 Kings. The complete destruction of Jerusalem is hard for me to imagine. It reminds me of some people I have known. They lived their lives apart from God and ultimately crashed down in ruins. May we choose to live lives aligned with God.
2 Kings 25:8-10 NLT
On August 14 of that year, which was the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar’s reign, Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard and an official of the Babylonian king, arrived in Jerusalem. [9] He burned down the Temple of the LORD, the royal palace, and all the houses of Jerusalem. He destroyed all the important buildings in the city. [10] Then he supervised the entire Babylonian army as they tore down the walls of Jerusalem on every side.
