Read Acts 6 today.

This chapter includes the story of the challenge faced by the early church due to the unequal distribution of food to the widows. They were having to deal with the growing pains experienced by every growing group. Every group struggles with fair distribution of resources, differences of opinions among the members, and some people’s needs falling through the cracks.
I find it interesting the text does not provide a detailed plan for how they were going to deal with the issue that had been raised. The plan was based on the integrity and character of the ‘who’, rather than the details of the ‘how’.
What kind of leaders do we seek?
Acts 6:2-3 NLT
So the Twelve called a meeting of all the believers. They said, “We apostles should spend our time teaching the word of God, not running a food program. [3] And so, brothers, select seven men who are well respected and are full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will give them this responsibility.
