This chapter includes the story of Daniel in the lions’ den.
Note to leaders: beware of people proposing legislation that suggests you are worthy of honor (even more so when it includes provisions to harm those who might disagree).
Note to followers of Christ: beware of abandoning your trust in God. Ever.
Daniel remained faithful to God, even when faced with persecution and death.
May we live our lives in such a faithful, responsible, and trustworthy way that the only things about us that others might find to criticize are in connection with the rules of our religion.
Daniel 6:3-5 NLT
Daniel soon proved himself more capable than all the other administrators and high officers. Because of Daniel’s great ability, the king made plans to place him over the entire empire. [4] Then the other administrators and high officers began searching for some fault in the way Daniel was handling government affairs, but they couldn’t find anything to criticize or condemn. He was faithful, always responsible, and completely trustworthy. [5] So they concluded, “Our only chance of finding grounds for accusing Daniel will be in connection with the rules of his religion.”
