Read Hebrews 10 today.

A couple of things I notice as I read this chapter:
As part of the new covenant, God will put His law into the hearts and minds of His people. This is an insertion of godliness into the hearts and minds of God’s people, rather than declaring what was already in their hearts and minds to be godly. We have a tendency to think the gospel is God’s declaration that whatever we do is okay, but this is not true. God has absorbed the penalty for sin in the death of Jesus Christ, but this does not mean that what was once sinful is now godly.
Deliberately continuing to sin is not God’s desire for us. God desire is that we might be holy as He is holy. Continuing to sin is not acceptable.
What are the ways in which you see other people assuming that whatever they desire is godly, merely because they are Christians? In what ways are you doing the same thing? What sin do you see other people holding onto, even after receiving the forgiveness of Christ? What sin do you have a hard time releasing?
Hebrews 10:15-16, 26 NLT
And the Holy Spirit also testifies that this is so. For he says, [16] “This is the new covenant I will make with my people on that day, says the LORD: I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.”
[26] Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins.
