Read Hebrews 5 today.

You are spiritually dull and don’t seem to listen. Ouch! You are like babies who need milk and cannot eat solid food. Ouch, again!
This chapter includes some things we might not appreciate. We like to read about how well we are doing. We like to hear that we are good (perhaps even outstanding) just the way we are. We like encouraging words and pats on the back.
Sometimes, what we need is to be challenged. The writer of Hebrews is challenging us to make spiritual growth a priority in our lives. When was the last time you took a significant step in your spiritual journey? When did you last step out of your spiritual comfort zone? Which of the spiritual fruit have you been intentionally (this means you are actually thinking about it ) growing in your life recently?
Perhaps today is the day to take a step.
Hebrews 5:11-14 NLT
There is much more we would like to say about this, but it is difficult to explain, especially since you are spiritually dull and don’t seem to listen. [12] You have been believers so long now that you ought to be teaching others. Instead, you need someone to teach you again the basic things about God’s word. You are like babies who need milk and cannot eat solid food. [13] For someone who lives on milk is still an infant and doesn’t know how to do what is right. [14] Solid food is for those who are mature, who through training have the skill to recognize the difference between right and wrong.
Galatians 5:22-23 NLT
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, [23] gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
