Read Luke 11 today.

One of the things we read in this chapter is an interaction between Jesus and a woman in the crowd as He was teaching. I suspect she meant her comment as a blessing and a compliment to Mary for having been Jesus’ mother. Jesus did not directly discount the blessing from the woman, but He used it to make a different point. Merely giving birth to Jesus was not the reason why Mary ought to be blessed. It seems Jesus implies it is because she heard the word of God and put it into practice. All who do the same, hear the word of for and put it into practice will be blessed.
It is not enough to just hear the word of God. Putting that word into practice, incorporating it into our daily lives is what matters. It there some word you have heard from God you have yet to put into practice?
Luke 11:27-28 NLT
As he was speaking, a woman in the crowd called out, “God bless your mother-the womb from which you came, and the breasts that nursed you!” [28] Jesus replied, “But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice.”
