Read Malachi 4 today.

Malachi 4:4 NLT“Remember to obey the Law of Moses, my servant-all the decrees and regulations that I gave him on Mount Sinai for all Israel.
This is the last chapter in the book of Malachi, and it includes an exhortation to obey the Law of Moses. As I read the words I do not thinks the Law of Moses is important for the Law’s sake. It is important because this is what the people in covenant theology God follow. It is a sign of their identity. The exhortation to “remember to obey the Law of Moses” is an exhortation to “remember who you are.” This is because the Israelites were not supposed to follow the Law in order to become God’s people, but because they already were God’s people.
I think a similar thing is true for followers of Christ. We do not follow the commandments of Christ in order to become His followers, but because we are His followers.
Remember who you are.
