Read Mark 2 today.

Mark 2:1-5 NLT
[1] When Jesus returned to Capernaum several days later, the news spread quickly that he was back home. [2] Soon the house where he was staying was so packed with visitors that there was no more room, even outside the door. While he was preaching God’s word to them, [3] four men arrived carrying a paralyzed man on a mat. [4] They couldn’t bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, so they dug a hole through the roof above his head. Then they lowered the man on his mat, right down in front of Jesus. [5] Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, “My child, your sins are forgiven.”
Early in this chapter, we read that Jesus was preaching to the people of Capernaum. The crowd was significant as the people gathered to hear what Jesus had to say. In the previous chapter, we read the assessment of the people that Jesus taught and preached with great authority.
As I read this today, the question that comes to my mind is this, “What was the subject about which Jesus was preaching that day?” Was He preaching about repentance? Forgiveness? Healing? Faith? The Kingdom of God? All of the above?
Jesus’s teaching was not always what people were expecting. There were some who were not ready for what He shared and did when the paralyzed man was brought to Him. Are we ready for what He might share and do in our midst?
