Read Matthew 24 today.

This chapter includes some of Jesus’ teaching about what is/was to come. The last part of the teaching in this chapter relates to being a faithful, sensible servant. There is nothing in Jesus’ teaching about a faithful, sensible servant that is new. Any faithful, sensible servant is trustworthy and reliable. The servant’s master can focus on other things, since he/she can know the servant will manage his/her responsibilities well. This is just what a faithful, sensible servant is.
The difference in Jesus’ teaching is the identity of the master. The servant chooses whom he/she will serve. Will it be the master of personal desire or pleasure? Will it be the priorities of the world or current culture? Will it be Jesus Christ? The choice is ours. To which master will you be faithful?
Matthew 24:45-47 NLT
“A faithful, sensible servant is one to whom the master can give the responsibility of managing his other household servants and feeding them. [46] If the master returns and finds that the servant has done a good job, there will be a reward. [47] I tell you the truth, the master will put that servant in charge of all he owns.
