The administrative tasks of the church are often completed by committees which are recommended by the Nominations and Leadership Development Committee and appointed by the Church Council during the Annual Charge Conference. All committees report to the church council. Asbury Care Committee
The Asbury Care Committee looks after the membership of Asbury.
Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees supervise and maintain all assets and property belonging to the church so that the ministries of the congregation can be effective. The Board of Trustees annually review the the adequacy of the property, liability, and crime insurance coverage on church-owned property, buildings, and equipment and of personnel insurance. The Board of Trustees may grant permission to an outside organization to use church facilities when such use is consistent with the Social Principles of the United Methodist Church and ecumenical objectives.
Church Council
The church council provides for planning and implementing a program of nurture, outreach, witness, and resources in the local church. It also provides for the administration of its organization and temporal life. It envisions, plans, implements, and annually evaluates the mission and ministry of the church. The Church Council typically meets monthly.
CMO Advisory Board
This CMO Advisory Board oversees the Children’s Morning Out (CMO) program.
Computer Committee
The Computer Committee oversees and makes recommendations for the computing needs and assets of the church.
Education Committee
The Education Committee oversees the Christian education of Asbury.
Finance Committee
The Finance Committee oversees the financial resources of Asbury.
FUN Committee
The FUN Committee plans social events for Asbury.
Funeral Committee
The Funeral Committee helps with the family needs for Asbury members who have passed away. This includes providing a funeral dinner.
Memorial Committee
The Memorial Committee.
Missions Committee
The Missions Committee oversees the global ministries of Asbury. They are responsible for planning the Faith Promise campaign which provides funding for this ministry.
Nominations and Leadership Development Committee
The Nominations and Leadership Development Committee.
Permanent Endowment Fund Committee
The Permanent Endowment Fund Committee oversees the distribution of proceeds from the Endowment Fund. These distributions are for special needs of the church and not for regular budgetary needs of Asbury.
Staff-Parish Relations Committee
The Staff-Parish Relations Committee is responsible for the staffing needs of Asbury. This includes finding suitable candidates for ministry positions and well as hiring employees.
Stewardship Committee
The Stewardship Committee helps the congregation understand the spiritual side of giving. They are responsible for planning our Stewardship Campaign and helping Asbury see why their giving is important to their spiritual lives and the ministry of Asbury.
Worship Alive
Worship Alive is a group of Asbury people who meet bi-weekly to plan the traditional services of Asbury.
